Netlotto Review 2024

Playing the lottery through online lotto sites can sometimes be unnerving. This is not necessarily because there is anything dodgy about a site or the business that it conducts, but purely because if it’s your first time using a site, you might not know what to expect. Luckily, one site that you won’t ever have to worry about experiencing this from is Netlotto.com.au. This site, which was launched around 2009, is an official reseller of Australian lottery games. In this Netlotto.com.au review, we will look at what this site offers and how you can use it to win some of the best jackpots offered by the Land Down Under.

Netlotto ReviewHow Does It Work?

To begin playing on the site, you will need to go through the usual process of opening a player account by clicking the Join button shown on any page of the site. While registering, you will need to provide the site with your necessary information, including name, date of birth, email address, contact number, and address.

After you have registered your player account successfully, you can begin playing. To start, select which lottery you would like to play in. After choosing your game, you will be taken to the number selection screen. Here, you can either select your own numbers to play with or use the quick pick function, which uses a random number generator to choose numbers on your behalf. Usually, after this, you can check out and continue with your day. However, Netlotto gives you many more options to choose from.

Rather than just selecting your numbers and the number of draws you would like to play in, Netlotto also allows you to choose between Smart System, System, or Auto Play. We have given a brief overview of each of these below:

  • Smart System: This play method allows you to select 15 unique numbers from the available lottery number pool. From here, the site will then estimate which number combinations are most likely to give you a win by looking at an analysis of hot and cold numbers drawn from draw history. Like other lottery prediction systems, however, we are not sure how well this will actually work in terms of helping you win, but it is one way to choose your numbers.
  • System: This play allows you to specify a specific range of numbers to play between. The site will then use this range to generate a ticket of every possible number combination. Needless to say, this play style can become very costly very quickly, depending on how many systems you choose to play.
  • Auto Play: This great feature is something that we wish more online lottery sites had and is something that we feel is an excellent addition to purchasing tickets online. Rather than only allowing you to buy a subscription for a set number of weeks, Auto Play will enable you to configure different parameters for play. These include what the minimum jackpot must be to play, whether the same numbers must be used consistently, or new ones generated, and whether tickets should be system tickets or normal. Once you have a subscription on Auto Play, only when a lottery draw meets the criteria you set will the site automatically purchase a ticket for you using whatever credit you have in your player account.

Is Netlotto.com.au Legit or a Scam?

Netlotto is most certainly not a scam. As we have mentioned, the site is an official Australian Lottery game reseller and is also a member of the Australian Government Reseller Agreement. This means that everything the site does is scrutinized by the Australian government—leaving very little room for the site operators even to try and think about doing anything sceptical.

If this is not enough to prove that you can trust Netlotto, the fact that they have been in existence for so many years should give you the proof you need. Initially founded in 1999, Netlotto first existed by selling tickets via email, newspapers, and phone calls. As with all things, they eventually made a move to the digital world, and Netlotto.com.au is the result of that.

Lotteries Available

As you may expect from a website that is an official Australian lottery reseller, the site supports all five Australian lottery games—meaning that there is a lottery draw every day of the week besides Friday and Sunday. Therefore, the only games you can play on the site each day of the week are:

  • Monday Lotto
  • Oz Lotto (Tuesday)
  • Wednesday Lotto
  • Oz Powerball (Thursday)
  • Saturday Lotto

Aside from these, the site does not support any other of the world’s biggest lotteries that you would normally expect to see on conventional lottery sites. Of course, we can understand the reasoning behind this, as Australia did make it much harder for locals to play international lotteries online via tightened regulations because they were stealing business from Australian lotteries.

Netlotto.com.au Mobile ScreenshotUser Experience

The user experience of the site is nothing horrible, but also nothing great. The main header of each page is modern, easy to read, and does an excellent job of giving you something nice to look at. Sadly, this is where that stops. Below the header, pages begin to look slightly older and clumsier. The text on most pages is incredibly small when compared to other websites, and the entire site feels like it has been squashed to fit into the centre of your screen. We know this is done to ensure compatibility with as many devices as possible but is still something that we expect not to see in 2020.

Navigation around the site is decent with the top menu bar and footer menu providing easy access to anywhere you could possibly want to go—except for the FAQ section (which we will talk about later). The site is missing a dedicated mobile application but loads well on mobile devices.

Netlotto.com.au Extras

There is only one real extra that we can mention aside from the different play methods already mentioned—the ability to play in syndicates. We love to play through lottery syndicates and make no illusions to the fact that we think they are almost the only way to actually improve your odds of winning prizes. Thankfully, Netlotto seems to agree, and they have a decent range of syndicates available for you to choose from.

Payment/Withdrawal Options

There are seven different ways in which you can make payment for your tickets or deposit funds into your digital wallet to gain a credit. These payment methods include:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • JCB
  • Diners Club
  • BPay
  • Poli
  • PayPal
  • Bank Transfer

Withdrawals cannot be done using this wide range of payment methods and instead can only be done via bank transfer or via cheque. Some of these options incur a withdrawal fee if you choose to withdraw your winnings. Opting for a cheque while living in Australia or internationally will cost you AU$1. However, while bank transfers in the country are free of charge, bank transfers for any country outside of Oz will cost you AU$20.

One thing to note is that withdrawals are subject to you verifying your identity by submitting your personal information such as a copy of your identification document or passport, proof of your residential address, and proof of your banking details.

How to Claim Your Winnings

One of the best things about the Netlotto is that they will handle all prize claims on your behalf, meaning there is nothing that you will need to do. All prizes, including tier-1 prizes, are claimed by Netlotto on your behalf and are then credited to your player account. From here, you can withdraw the funds as and when you wish to.

Customer Support

The site has various customer support options. The primary options include an online form that can be filled out, a support contact number (+61 7 3235 6280), a support email address (info@netlotto.com.au), and a physical and postal address that we are not even going to mention (who uses that nowadays anyway?).

In addition to these options, the site does have an FAQ section. This section cannot easily be accessed, and the only way to actually get to it is to visit the Customer Service tab, scroll down to the online form, and click on one of the three quick link questions next to the online form. This will then take you to the FAQ—which is not very comprehensive and does not really answer that many questions.

Welcome Bonuses/Promotions

While Netlotto has a promotions page, at the time of this review, the site claimed that there were no current promotions and we received no welcome bonus when registering as a new player.

Rules and Regulations

Only players who are 18 years of age or older are allowed to register a player account. Also, there is a massive list of countries of which residents are not permitted to make use of the site. These include:

  • Afghanistan
  • American Samoa
  • Azerbaijan
  • Belize
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina
  • Brunei Darussalam
  • Christmas Island
  • Croatia
  • Guam
  • Korea, Democratic People's Republic of (DPRK)

Netlotto.com.au Review Conclusion

Netlotto.com.au is one of those sites that does so much right while also doing several things wrong. The outstanding feature of having different options to choose from when buying your ticket is fantastic. However, the site design does get to you after you have been online a bit and may begin to irritate you.

We could continue on this list. However, it is better just to say this—Netlotto is a tremendous online lottery website that you will probably not regret using if you’re in one of the supported countries. Sure, they can make some adjustments to the way they do things and could improve the overall experience of using their services. But even without all that, Netlotto is one of the best places to try your luck on Australian lotteries.

Played through Netlotto heaps when living in Melbourne for a few year and really had no qualms about it. Now that I'm not living in Australia and can't play through it I have found other sites I like more because they open up other countries lottos, but for Ozzies who want to play local games its definitely a great choice.
