Is Dream Giveaway scam? Read our DreamGiveaway.com review 2020 to find out!
What could be better than standing a chance at winning something that you have always dreamt about having and knowing that you are contributing towards a worthy cause? This feeling is precisely what Dreamgiveaway.com offers to everyone who uses their site. Operated by Dream Giveaway Inc., the site has been in operation since 2008. In this Dreamgiveaway.com review, we will look at how the website works and what you can win by playing through it.
There are no lottery draws available on Dream Giveaway. While this may sound strange for an online lottery site, hear us out. In the place of lotteries, this website hosts several draws with prizes that are ever-changing. In essence then, the site hosts a number of raffles. There are ten unique draws that take place each year, and draw dates are openly displayed in the rules of each draw.
At the time of this review, just some of the prizes included:
- 1969 Mach 1 Mustang (plus $10,000 for taxes)
- Hellcat Redeye (plus $20,000 for taxes)
- $10,000 Amazon Shopping Spree
How Does it Work?
To enter into any of the draws, players will need to register a player account by submitting all necessary information such as their name, date of birth, and physical address. Players can then select the draw that they would like to enter. The next step will be to choose the number of tickets required and to make payment for the tickets. This is where things get interesting. Instead of paying an amount for tickets that get placed into the pocket of Dream Giveaway Inc. in order to pay for the prizes, all amounts spent on purchasing tickets get donated to charity. In fact, all money processed by the site is donated directly to charity.
The way this is achieved is because almost all prizes are sponsored. Each prize will have the sponsor’s name listed below it. Some, however, will have no sponsorship name and will be paid for by the website.
The website has a dedicated section that lists all sponsors that make the draws possible, as well as a section that details all charities that are aided by the sale of tickets on the site. This is great if you would like to check where your money is going.
Is Dreamgiveaway.com Legit or a Scam?
Considering that they have been around for such a long time, we are confident that everything about Dreamgiveaway is legit. In addition to this, they run a very transparent website. Not only are there countless videos posted of charities receiving donations, but there are also videos of winners receiving their prizes—something that we don’t readily see a website putting that much effort into faking.
For these reasons and the fact that all donations are 100% tax deductible—which itself means that they are registered to receive donations—leads us to believe that they can easily be trusted.
However, even though we are confident that they can be trusted, there is something that weighs heavily on us—the website has no visible terms and conditions. While there are rules allocated to each individual draw, there are no global terms and conditions that cover how winnings are distributed, what occurs if there is a dispute or any other things that these documents are meant to cover. We think this is a massive oversight for a website that has been in existence for over ten years, so we hope that they are working on rectifying this.
The Dream Giveaways website is slightly cluttered when viewing it for the first time. However, once you have taken a look around, it is easy to see how you can navigate to whatever you’d like to see. The site is also designed in a modern way that is pleasing to look at and loads incredibly quickly even on questionable connections.
The site is, thankfully, mobile-friendly. This makes up for the fact that there is no mobile application available for the website—not that we expected there to be one for a site like this if we are entirely honest.
Because of the nature of the site, there are no extras. All draws are what they are stated to be, and entering these draws is the only thing available on the website.
All payments—or should we say donations—are securely handled using either a Visa, Mastercard, or American Express bank card. Unfortunately, this means that if you do not have access to one of these cards, you will not be able to make a payment on the site.
There are no withdrawal options.
How to Claim Your Winnings
Due to the lack of terms and conditions, we are not entirely sure what the process for claiming winnings would be—or in fact, how the draws take place. However, considering that you are required to enter a shipping address when you view your ‘My Account’ section of the site after registering, we are under the assumption that your prize will be shipped to you. If that is the case, then the process to claim your winnings should be relatively straightforward.
One thing to note about winnings, however, is something that is clearly stated on the website. Dream Giveaway is in no way liable for any tax payable on prizes. So, while some prizes do come with a cash amount to help cover the cost of tax, the onus to pay tax falls solely on the winner.
The only customer support options available are an email address (firstname.lastname@example.org), and a contact number for service calls (727-228-1479) that is available Monday to Friday between 9 am and 5 pm EST.
The site does not offer any promotions or welcome bonuses.
Rules and Regulations
The only limitations imposed by the site are that players are over the age of 18, and are not from the state of Oregon in the US or Quebec in Canada. Aside from that, the site states that the draws are open to anyone from all countries as long as participating in the draw is not illegal in the player’s country of residence.
Dreamgiveaway.com Review Conclusion
While we are 100% behind what Dreamgiveaway.com is trying to do by donating all proceeds to charity, we are a bit concerned about the lack of decent terms and conditions on the site. Despite that, we are still confident that the website can be trusted and that players will get that warm feeling inside knowing they have contributed to charity. For that reason, we invite everyone to try the site out.
