BOTB Review: Can You Actually "Win Your Dream Car"?

Initially started in 1999, BOTB used to be located in over 20 airports and shopping centres around the UK. However, with the advent of the digital age, BOTB began using their online home—BOTB.com—as their new base of operations.

The site is owned and operated by Best of the Best Ltd. (which, as you may have guessed, stands BOTB).

In this BOTB.com review, we will look at what the site offers and if you can actually win your dream car by playing through it.

How Does BOTB.com Work?

For one, we need to say right up front that this is not like any other online lottery websites that you may be used to. The reason we say this is due to the fact that—on this site—you are entirely in control of your own chances of winning (at least in the main draw). That may sound confusing, but allow us to explain.

BOTB ReviewTo play, you will need to register a player account with the website. This is standard for almost all sites and can be done by providing your name, email address, contact number, and country to the site. Alternatively, the site allows you to register a player account by using your Facebook, Google, or Twitter account (which we think is a great way to make things happen more quickly).

Once you have registered, you will be able to select which of the three weekly draws held by the site you would like to participate in. The three options are Weekly Dream Car, Weekly Lifestyle, and Midweek Car. We will cover the details of these draws later on in this article.

Each of the three types of draws listed above has its own unique prizes that range from ridiculously great sportscars to cash and electronics. All you need to do is navigate to the prize you want and then purchase tickets to win that prize. Ticket prices are dependent on the prize that you play for and vary from prize to prize. After deciding what prize you would like to play for, things really start being different from the norm.

When playing the Weekly Dream Car and Midweek Car draws, rather than having to select any combination of numbers that you will have to match to win, you will be presented with an image from a sporting event. This image generally includes two players with their eyes fixed on the ball. The catch is that the ball has been digitally removed from the picture. Using the angles formed by the player’s eyes, your job is to try and guess where the ball is located in the original image and to place a marker at that point. At the end of the week, a series of professional sports experts do the same exercise as you. The person with the closest match of the location of the ball to that chosen by the judges is the winner. If this isn’t a fun way to play for prizes, we don’t know what is!

If you opt to play in the Weekly Lifestyle draw, things work slightly differently. Again, you will not be required to select any numbers. However, you will also not be tasked to try and find an imaginary ball in an image. Instead, you will be given a tricky question, such as an extremely specific factoid about sports, to answer. At the end of the draw period, all winners that correctly answered the question are placed in a group. A winner is then randomly selected.

Here's a video that sums up the entire BOTB experience:

Is BOTB.com Legit or a Scam?

It would be easy for us to say that BOTB.com is legitimate based solely on the fact that they have been running since 1999 and have given away over £32 million in prizes. The truth, however, is that regardless of this, the site has to operate under incredibly strict guidelines because BOTB is listed on the London Stock Exchange.

In addition to this, the site holds an excellent score on Trustpilot (4.6 stars out of 5 to be exact) and generally has an exceptional reputation online. So, if you were in any way concerned that this site may take your money and run, rest assured that will not be the case.

User Experience

The site is truly stunning to look at and makes the most of its modern and minimalistic design. This ‘less is more’ design does not, however, make the site lacking in any way. In fact, there is still plenty for you to see and navigate to. All navigation is handled by the top menu bar that allows you access to the different sections of the site and your account options. Moving around the site like this happens quickly (even on relatively slow connections), and the site runs flawlessly.

The site looks just as good on mobile devices—which is a good thing considering the lack of any dedicated mobile application.

Lotteries Available

As mentioned above, there are three main competitions offered by the site. None of these is any lottery that you would have heard of before if you are visiting BOTB.com for the first time. The three competitions available each week are:

  • Weekly Dream Car: This competition allows you to pick from a variety of insane supercars that includes cars such as the Lamborghini Urus and Aston Martin DB11 V8.
  • Weekly Lifestyle: This draw holds prizes that range from wristwatches, motorcycles, and international holidays to cash and electronics.
  • Midweek Car: This option gives you the chance to win more ‘mature’ cars by offering the likes of cars from Tesla (Model 3), Volvo (Polestar 2), and Land Rover (Defended 110 SE).

BOTB.com Extras

There are no real extras available on the site aside from the dream car credits that each account holder has the chance to obtain. These virtual credits can be accumulated by referring friends to the site, placing as a runner-up in draws, or by winning social media competitions held by the website. Once you have accumulated enough credits, you will be able to use these credits to purchase tickets into the weekly draws without having to pay.

Payment/Withdrawal Options

The only payment options available on the site are:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • PayPal
  • American Express
  • JCB

Because you will never have any money stored in your online player account aside from dream car credits (which can only be used for purchasing tickets), there are no withdrawal options available.

BOTB Lamborghini Winner Chris PhillipsHow to Claim Your Winnings

If you are lucky enough to be a winner with BOTB.com, there is nothing that you will need to do. The site personally calls every winner using the contact number provided when registering a player account. From here, the site will deliver the prize to you no matter where in the world you are located. Although the website fully covers this cost, all import taxes and fees associated with registering the car in your home country will be for your own expense. To make up for this, all car prizes come with a year’s worth of free insurance and maintenance services.

Customer Support

If you have some questions, the site has a pretty decent FAQ section that will answer almost all of the concerns that you may have. If you still are unsure about something, the site has a support email address (info@botb.com) and a contact number (+44 207 371 8866). Unfortunately, there are no hours of operation listed with the number.

If all the above fails, the site has an online contact form that you can complete, as well as a snail mail address (2 Plato Place, 72-74 St Dionis Road, London, SW6 4TU).

Welcome Bonuses/Promotions

There are no welcome bonuses that we could see available for new players. The only promotion that we could uncover is a draw called the Superdrive competition. This is a special draw that is occasionally held by the site that allows players to win even more spectacular cars than usual. Details of this type of draw are published on the site well in advance of the promotion end date.

Rules and Regulations

All players wishing to register a player account must be 17 years of age or older. This will be confirmed by requesting you to submit a copy of your identity document if you are a winner.

Aside from this, however, there does not seem to be any regulation or limit on who can make use of the site’s services. The only thing that we did notice that is hidden away in the terms and conditions is the fact that BOTB.com can—at their own whim—refuse to ship prizes to any country of their choice. Based on their reputation, we do not think that they evoke this right very often, but it is still worthwhile being aware of it.

BOTB.com Review Conclusion

As far as sites that give away free cars, cash, holidays, and gadgets go, this site is easily one of the best that we have encountered. From the innovative way in which you have to enter the competitions to the prizes themselves, this site is truly something that stands out from the norm.

If you are looking to play in any of the popular international lotteries that we all know and love, then this is not the site for you. However, if you are looking for a great site to try your luck on winning great prizes, then look no further than BOTB.com.

Its always been a dream of mine to have a Lambo and though I'm hoping I can earn it through my business one day I wouldn't mind just winning it and having it a few, or many, years earlier ; )
